Expat in Denmark is Denmark’s first official national network for foreign professionals.

We live in a globalised world where people are always on the lookout for the most attractive job opportunities, and where companies, in turn, look far beyond national borders for the best possible workforce. However, moving to a foreign country and settling in can be difficult, and many foreign adventures end quite differently than both employees and companies had hoped. We created Expat in Denmark because we know that Denmark is no exception.

The Expat in Denmark network is jointly run by the Danish Ministry of Economics and Business Affairs and a consortium made up of the Danish Chamber of Commerce (Dansk Erhverv), The Copenhagen Post, and the Danish Bankers Association (Finansrådet).

An Advisory Board consisting of experts, expats, consultants and government representatives continuously provides feedback and advice, based on their expertise and interests. Likewise, a range of local and international partners volunteer to provide various knowledge, services or member benefits.

The networks, events, and member services are administered and run by the Expat in Denmark Consortium through a joint Secretariat, based in the historic Børsen building in the centre of Copenhagen. Together with the Secretariat, the Consortium is also in charge of developing and expanding the network in accordance with the aims set out by the Ministry of Economics and Business Affairs.

Our aim

The ultimate aim of Expat in Denmark is to make Denmark a more attractive place to work, to live, and to stay. By setting up and maintaining national, regional and local expat networks, we hope to benefit both companies that hire foreign professionals, the foreign professionals themselves as well as their accompanying families. Expat in Denmark will also host social and professional events throughout the country and hope to make ExpatinDenmark.com the #1 online expat information centre.

 
Who can join?

Everyone can join the Expat in Denmark network, expats and Danes alike. The network and all services are free to registered members.
